Round Report – Lido Beach Golf

Report: The course played slow at over five hour and twenty minutes. The slow pace of play can be forgiven; I was playing the Friday before the long Memorial Day weekend. That said, there were no rangers on the course moving things along. Water plays prominently on this course, including many spots of standing water in fairways and bunkers. The greens were rolling on the slow side. Don’t miss the burgers at the turn… it’s well worth your time. All in all, Lido Beach needs a little work – especially at this point in the season.

It really is a shame because this course has a great layout and unbelievable potential to really be a solid track. However currently this course is in absolutely terrible condition even for a public course. The greens are sooooooo slow, the bunkers have no lips and it is more like hitting from dirt as opposed to sand. Don’t ever play here if it rained with in thew last 48 hours as there is sure to still be a ton of water still all over the course. I really wish that someone would take this course over and fix it up!!!!! I would not mind paying more to play it if it were in good or even decent shape!!!!!
I agree…this course has a lot going for it:
Great links style layout
Unbeatable views
Interesting/difficult wind conditions
Decent practice facilities
As this was my first time out there, I had some trouble locating the greens from the tee. A map would have been nice. A little investment in drainage is needed.
