Long Island National Golf Club -- LI National GC
Built in 1999, Long Island National sprouted out of an old potato fielded with aid of Robert Trent Jones Jr.. This park and links style course plays to a difficult 6838 yards at a par 71. Founded and operated by the Gatz family, the course was sold in bankruptcy in 2013 to Donald Zucker.
From the course, “The layout is ideal for the avid golfer who is in for a challenge, in the meantime it’s forward tees offer a more forgiving round to the high handicappers. The ownership of the golf club changed in mid July of 2013 and will undergo a significant amount of improvements over the next few months. These improvements will range from the golf course playability to the clubhouse and practice facility.”
