Bethpage to Host 2019 PGA and 2024 Ryder Cup

Bethpage State Park’s Black Course in Farmingdale, N.Y., one of the country’s most popular venues, has been selected to host the 101st PGA Championship in 2019, and serve as the site of the 45th Ryder Cup in 2024.

Walker Cup News Round Up

National Golf Links of America will host the Walker Cup next weekend, September 7th and 8th. Never heard of the Walker Cup? You can think of it as the amateur version of the Ryder Cup. The U.S. fields a ten-man team against a team comprised of amateurs from Great Britain and Ireland. Play takes place over two days which include of foursomes and individual match play.

Danny Balin won his second consecutive New York State Open Thursday, July 25th at Bethpage Black with a 7 under par score. Total purse for the event, $17,500.  He bested Andrew Giuliani – yes, Rudy’s son – by two strokes.
