Long Island Press declares Bethpage is the ‘Best’
For the sixth straight year, Long Island Press ran it’s Best of Poll. With almost 750,000 votes cast in 280+ categories, this year proves to be the biggest and most comprehensive yet. The editors of LI Press opened up the golf category to private courses, previous years polling just looked at public tracks. Even with the stiffer competition, Bethpage State Park took top honors – that’s four years running. Eisenhower Park dropped from second place spot in 2010 to third this year. Harbor Links, of Port Washington, took second place honors. Opened in 1998, the Michael Hurdzan design course offers a unique change given it’s North Shore home. Built on a reclaimed sand mine you might just think you’re out in the Southwest US. Congratulations to all the honorees… really we all win with such great golf.
